RECHARGE
The relaunch of Leg Up On Life kicks off with a virtual live streaming experience coming to screens via YouTube stream January 25th, 2021 at 8PM EST. Bringing together artists new and returning to the Leg Up On Life community, this show will raise funds for the newly announced Scholarship and Artist Grant Programs. This show will have 10 performances celebrating numerous events in a calendar year hosted by Jackie Cox and Daniel Gold.
YOUR HOSTS:
JACKIE COX is best known as one of the Top 4 contestants from Season 12 of RuPaul’s Drag Race and was the first queen of Iranian descent to appear on the show, making Drag Race “her-story” when she wore a hijab on the runway.
In her hometown of NYC, Jackie has long been a star of the cabaret scene with her hit show "I
Dream of Jackie" which she has performed coast to coast along with its sequels “Jackie's Nightmare” & “Jackie’s Winter Wish.”
Known for her hosting and playful interviewing style, Jackie has interviewed numerous Broadway celebrities for her weekly YouTube show “Good Morning Tonight!” (Jonathan Bennett, Jessica Keenan Wynn, Eden Espinosa, Jerry Mitchell)
Prior to Drag Race, Jackie appeared on TV in ABC's "What Would You Do?", in Fusion's "Shade: Queens of NYC", as well as numerous appearances on Bravo's "Watch What Happens Live", with her impersonation of TV personality and Depends undergarment spokeswoman, Lisa Rinna.
Daniel Gold is Leg Up On Life's founder and a resident NYC based artist. He has had numerous experiences in all corners of the arts world from theatre, commercial, and concert dance. He has toured with the 1st National Tour of Miss Saigon and Disney's Beauty and the Beast. He has been seen on stages across the country at Lyric Opera of Chicago, North Shore Music Theatre, and recently on screen in "A Drag Queen Christmas" as co-host Jackie Cox's dance partner in her parody "This Christmas Maybe". As a Choreographer he choreographed for theatrical productions, music videos, and commercials. Most notably, the U.S. Regional Premiere of THE BODYGUARD, Off-Broadway Musical GOOD MORNING NEW YORK, THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD, and YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN. He can be found teaching four times a week as a faculty member at both STEPS On Broadway and PMT House of Dance.
He also has spend a large portion of his career working on benefit projects not only for Leg Up On Life but BCEFA, DRA, and The Trevor Project. Wear a mask and much love to his fiancé Cameron and all involved in this virtual extravaganza! @djpgold
